Smart Applications Management (SAM) is the UK’s largest Member owned provider of ITSO Smart Ticketing Managed Services.
Established in 2010, SAM is an independent not for profit company, owned by its Members:- Local Transport Authorities, Passenger Transport Operators, Regional Transport Organisations, Transport Scotland and the Welsh Government.
SAM was created to provide a range of ITSO Smart Ticketing Managed Services for our Members through pooling expertise, exploiting procurement efficiencies and economies of scale, to deliver the very best schemes for Members and their Customers. SAM is also the commissioning body and host of the UK's National Procurement Framework for smart and integrated ticketing services and goods.
Membership of SAM is free, with Members only paying for the Services they wish to use.
The SAM Managed Service has developed for our Members over the last 8 years to help them deliver smart and integrated ticketing. In its simplest form, the SAM Managed Service is a series of 8 individual Support Packages which can be combined to provide a complete end-to-end managed service for smart and integrated ticketing, tailored to meet the needs of an individual SAM Member.
The National Procurement Framework is a UK-wide resource for National Governments, Local Government, PTA's, Other Public Sector Bodies, and Transport Operators to have direct access to a full range of ITSO and wider ticketing services and goods, without having to complete individual, costly and time-consuming Public Procurement exercises. The Framework is comprised of 13 individual Lots, and supports over 44 Suppliers.
